|"Celtic Cross 50"
I have not found two woods that complement each other better than Black Walnut and Cherry, and they both carve beautifully as well. The eagle located towards the base is symbolic for St. John, and the fourth gospel. This is a very traditional cross in shape and appearance.
Note; Constructing the crosses with inlays is a little more difficult than the ordinary ones, with the lower areas routed out and the pieces hand carved and doweled in place, it makes for a "slower" but very rewarding cross.
